Our Services

Routine & Field Services

Ascot Equine Veterinarians has fully equipped vehicles able to provide a wide range of routine field services. We service from Bullsbrook to Armadale and the valley and hills in between.

Wellness Plans

At Ascot Equine Veterinarians, we are committed to providing excellence in health care to our client’s horses. To ensure that your horse remains healthy and active throughout their life, we are excited to introduce a comprehensive wellness service to our clients. This service allows us to provide the best preventative healthcare medicine, so that we can identify minor issues before they become major health problems in the future.

Lameness Investigation

Lameness is a common problem in all horses, from the miniature pony to the elite athlete. There are many different potential causes of lameness, some of which can be diagnosed on the basis of a thorough clinical examination and others that may require further in-depth investigation in association with advanced diagnostic imaging

Radiography

Radiography is one of the most commonly utilised imaging modalities in the horse. Ascot Equine Veterinarians have two digital radiography systems that allows in hospital and in the field imaging that can be assessed immediately.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound is a valuable, non-invasive, diagnostic imaging tool commonly used in the horse. At Ascot Equine Veterinarians the combination of our dedicated staff, multiple ultrasound machines and an array of different transducers supports examination of a wide range of body systems.

Endoscopy

Gastric Ulcers have been shown to affect a wide range of horses of all ages, breeds and use from the paddock pet to the international sport horse.

Surgery

Dr Peter Harding (Internationally recognised board certified specialist equine surgeon) provides complete surgical care for both emergency and elective surgical procedures. In the case of an emergency, our surgical team is available 24 hours a day.

Internal Medicine

Dr Annemarie Cullimore is specialist trained in Equine Medicine, and if not undertaking medicine cases directly, liaises with our dedicated team of veterinarians to provide a 24-hour medicine service for the investigation and treatment of a diverse range of diseases and disorders, including respiratory, cardiac, gastrointestinal, liver, neurologic, muscular, ophthalmologic, dermatologic, renal, hematologic and endocrine disorders.

Sports Medicine

At Ascot Equine Veterinarians, we understand the unique needs of athletic horses. Our sports medicine services go beyond routine evaluations, ensuring peak performance and optimal well-being. We provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and rehabilitation services for sport horses from all life stages and disciplines. Our team works closely with trainers, riders, and other members of your horse’s care team to provide comprehensive care and support for equine athletes.

Poor Performance

Lameness, respiratory and cardiac diseases are the most common causes of poor performance or loss of performance in the equine athlete. In many horses, mild abnormalities in more than one body system can cumulatively contribute to a loss of performance and investigation can thus be challenging. A complete investigation of the musculoskeletal, respiratory and cardiac systems is essential in the diagnosis of poor performance.

Reproductive Services

Ascot Equine Veterinarians offers all routine breeding services, with over 60 years combined experience. We provide routine follicle testing, pregnancy diagnosis, fresh and chilled semen insemination, along with management of endometrosis, endometritis, and ovarian disorders. For more complicated cases we consult or refer to more specialised reproductive veterinary services.

Pre-Purchase Examinations

We understand that as well as being an exciting time the purchase of a horse can be a huge financial undertaking and prospective purchasers often want to make sure they are aware of any health issues the horse may have.

Dentistry

From the young Thoroughbred prepping for their first trial, to the geriatric paddock pet, we believe routine dental care is an important part of your horse’s wellbeing. At Ascot Equine Vets, we are fully equipped to offer your horse a thorough dental examination and performance floating. At our hospital and diagnostic centre, we have a purpose built dental stocks on-site to facilitate the procedure.
